Sung to the tune of “I saw three ships come sailing in”

1. We saw three boats come bobbing in
     Come bobbing in
          on Dover shore
We saw three boats come bobbing in
On a windy day in the morning.
2. And who was in those boats all three
      Boats all three
          on Dover shore
And who was in those boats all three
On a shivery day in the morning?
3. There’s people aboard who’ve fled their homes
     Who’ve fled their homes
          in bloody war
There’s people aboard who’ve fled their homes
      Amid most fearful warnings.
4. And what are the gifts they bring to these shores
     bring to these shores
          bring to these shores
And what are the gifts they bring to these shores
In the early hours of this morning?

5.  They bring their youth, their food, their songs,
          their strength, their lives
             their strength, their lives
So let’s give them a welcome wave on the shore
In the silvery light of this morning.
