Launch Event

We’re delighted to report that the launch event of Sevenoaks Climate Action Network, on Saturday 13 November, was a huge success! Residents from across the Sevenoaks district packed out The Drive Methodist Church, listened intently to accounts of some of the amazing work already happening around Sevenoaks and engaged enthusiastically with our themed workshops. Thank you to all of you who took part.

Next Steps

We would now like to form groups according to the workshop themes which were as follows, with a facilitator for each:

Get Involved

  • Join a group – Please email the facilitator of the group(s) that you would like to get involved in, and you will be invited to join that group’s communications. We have lots of exciting ideas to look into so there will be a project to get involved in as soon as you are ready!
  • Sign the petition – Please sign the petition for Sevenoaks District Council to declare a nature and climate emergency. This will help to get the council onto the same page as the rest of us, seeing this as the crisis it is and addressing it accordingly. https://bit.ly/sevenoaksclimate
  • Come to our sale – Our next event will be a Second Hand Sale on 11 December from 10am to 1pm at the Vine Baptist Church, Park Lane, Sevenoaks, TN13 3UP. Please get in touch if you would like a stall and let others know about the event to help us make it a success.
  • Follow us – Like, follow, comment on and share our social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
  • Tell us about climate action – Please tell us about any existing groups, charities, organisations or businesses that are already trying to reduce carbon emissions in Sevenoaks so we can promote and support them.

And finally…

An inspirational quote to leave you to ponder…“If we leave it to Governments, it will be too late. If we only act as individuals, it will be too little. But if we act as communities, it might be just enough, just on time.” – Rob Hopkins.
