Steve was elected in May 2021 to Kent County Council, representing Ashford East. He was elected in May 2019 to Ashford Borough Council as one of the Green Party's first two Borough Councillors. Steve has always been concerned about the welfare of animals and the environment, winning an award at The North School for recycling the most aluminium cans in aid of protecting rainforest (to this day he believes he owns an acre of Brazil!) Since joining the Green Party in 2009 he has stood in many local elections, and also stood as a Parliamentary Candidate in 2010.
